The video below shows Lara in her first ever trial competition in brace when she only had 4-6 weeks or so to partner Todd.
CAP –
He is the most prolific of all the dogs I have ever had and the most flexible and obedient. He has class, intelligence, and thinks for himself and makes logical decisions. He is rather special. Among his many achievements, he was the Champion of the Dales in 2024 after 7 weeks of partnering his mum, Lara, and they finished 3rd at the 2025 English National Brace Trial. He is a very friendly dog, but now he has taken on the mantle of “top dog,” he can pretend to look quite serious.
MIST
Winner day 2 at the English National 2019 – Finished 3rd
England Team Member 2019
Mist was the Midshires champion in 2017
Mist, just like her mum, Skye, has always been a firm favourite as she would work sheep for anyone. She can be a bit of a madam if she senses that people are not serious and totally go on strike. She always greets clients with a very loud “woowoo” wolf-like cry to ensure they don’t forget to stroke her. A real attention seeker, but with a kind and empathetic style of handling sheep. She isn’t as powerful as the other dogs I have, but makes up for it by being so likable.

Our Past Dogs
Pip – D.O.B. 06-06-20
Reserve National brace Champion, accompanied by her mum, Lara.
Finalist – Champion of the Peak and Vivod
Pip loved to work on the farm but was not so keen on sheepdog trials until she started to work in brace trials with her mum. She was a very serious-looking dog that took on a maternal role over all the dogs, despite her young age. She sadly died suddenly at age 4 in 2024.
TODD –
England team member 2017 – Reserve Midshires Champion 2017
Winner World Sheepdog trials Netherlands Team Event 2017
Todd was the most gentle of dogs with adults, children, and puppies. At work, he was strong and one of the hardest-working dogs I have had. A favourite among clients attending our experience days due to sitting on their feet and leaning on them. He sadly dies in September 2025, aged 12 3/4 years.
JAKE – England team member 2016/17
Jake suffered a spinal stroke at 7 years of age and lived a further 7 years. Probably the most gutsy dog I have ever had with the gentlest of qualities. He was just like Disney’s Pluto and brought a lot of laughter to us.
Skye – 20/02/2007 – 28/09/2016
Skye was good with all types of sheep, sheep like her. She had a tremendous heart, and was everybody’s favorite. She was the mother to my Jake, Mist, and Todd. She had the sweetest personality, she loved to compete. She left a tremendous legacy.
